Get your party pants on because it is here again. The adults only Trivia Night will be held in the historic EP Roosters ballroom on Saturday June 16. Starting at 7.30PM, our hosts
Katrina & Dean (yes they are on a long term contract to us) will tease us with questions relating to this years topical topic of fancy. Many many tremendously inexpensive prizes will be claimed, chests thrust proud and spousal arguments commenced. The theme is ‘international’ and costume dress encouraged. this means come dressed as your favourite movie star, international beverage, or foreign rock. Tables of ten are desired
at a cost of $250 (or $25 pp for any Tasmanians out there) and includes a party platter for looking at.

Hello Roosters New and Old!

The launch of this new website is just the beginning of a brand new season and outlook for Rooster Rugby in 2012. We have grand plans for our club and this year sees the five year plan come to light.

Our stabilisation year of 2011 was a great success and the cooperation between our Senior Club and ourselves means we have a fantastic foundation to build on. As we speak the calendar for the season is being drawn up and you will be able to see it take shape on the website calendar link shortly. In the meantime a few important points to note for 2012 are:

Exclusive Test Ticket Discount

Everton Park Junior Rugby Union members have a wonderful opportunity to access an exclusive offer from the ARU this year, 50% off Wallaby Test Match Tickets at Suncorp Stadium in 2012.

For the Wallabies vs Wales Test on Sat 9 June, Bronze Catergory, tickets are on offer at just $20 – this price applying to both adults and juniors. Compared to the regular price of $49 for adults and $25 for juniors.

For the Bledisloe Test on 20 October the savings are even more significant. A Silver Category ticket has been reduced for adults from $119 to $60. Bronze category only $42.

ARU invites you to take up these offers and show your support for the Qantas Wallabies as recognition of the investment, time and effort your dedicate to rugby.

A New Playing Strip

All registered Roosters in 2012 will receive a full playing strip including shorts, socks and game day jersey. These are yours for the year and the responsibility to maintain them lies on you. Premium brand Kooga is our supplier and the hard workers of your committee have come up with a fresh modern design. Check it out on this link here.

Facility Improvements

As part of our lease commitments to Brisbane City Council we have submitted some improvements that will form the bulk of our off-field work projects this year. These include the removal of the equipment storage containers and their replacement with more practical storage; refurbishment of the ladies bathrooms; and the construction of a more appropriate BBQ area. Other maintenance will continue through the season but these form part of our major five year list. As always, your help with these projects will truly benefit the Club and the warm fuzzy feeling is a bonus!

Fundraising Events

I don’t think there is a sports club in existence that doesn’t put their hand out for something! Forward planning over the break has allowed us to plan another Trivia Night (last year was a huge success) and a Bledisloe Cup dinner function among the regular training night raffles and chocolate drives. The newsletter will offer regular reminders about these and the website calendar has the years events already listed.

As you can see it will be another busy year however the first two dates you will need for your diary are Sign-on Saturday January 28, and the AGM on February 1st – new committee members are wanted!

So to the returning Roosters, our new players and the friends and family of the club, welcome to the oldest suburban rugby club in Brisbane and enjoy the friendliest union that is EPJRU.
